In a very brief time, the world around us has changed profoundly.  Seizing the
opportunities these changes bring -- while solving their challenges -- requires savvy
businesses to explore new thinking, creative ideas, and fresh approaches.

C Jane helps you do just that.  Our name is our mission.  We see work and life through
the lens of women, helping organizations see the talent and value women bring to
the work place and engaging their perspective, insight, and wisdom to create better
work/life solutions for us all.

Why women?

2010 was a historic year for women as they crossed the 50% threshold to represent
the new majority of the American workforce.  Combine that with purchasing power
(many estimate women make 80% of the nation's purchasing decisions) and advanced
educations (the majority of the nation's university graduates are women), and it's
clear to see the powerful influence women have in our world today.

The economic empowerment of women is one of the most remarkable revolutions of
the past 50 years -- leading to a fundamental transformation in the way America
works and lives.  Many call it one of the greatest cultural transformations of our time.

S
till, according to the Shriver Report, an October 2009 study on women published by
the Center for American Progress, women say they feel increasingly isolated, invisible,
stressed, and misunderstood.
"Talk to women and you hear a lot about the search
for a balanced life,"
said Maria Shriver, a key author of the report.  "Everywhere I
went, people told me how worn out and in crisis they felt.  More and more of them
say, if they could, they would leave companies that are unresponsive to their needs
and start their own businesses."

Many have begun to do just that.  Women make up 35% of the self-employed -- and
the number of women-owned businesses are growing almost three times as fast as
the total number of businesses.

Y
et work/life balance is not just a woman's issue any more.  In 'Women In America', a
study released by the White House
in March 2011, the first comprehensive look at the
status of women in America put out by the White House in over 50 years,
President
Obama agrees that many of the issues facing women today d
o not just impact
women. Both sexes feel that the structure of the modern workplace isn't meeting
people's needs.

                 ------------------------------------------------------------------

"80% of women and men surveyed told pollsters that if business fails to
adapt to the needs of the modern family, they risk losing good people."

With leaner budgets, leaner work places, and global competition, great companies
can't afford to lose good people.  To thrive in business today, attracting, engaging,
and retaining the best talent has become more important than ever.

Today's battered economy has shaken up just about everything -- but with crisis
comes opportunity.

By exploring creative ways for making work and life work, great organizations
will
continue to be work places where the best talent chooses to be.  C Jane workshops
can help you better understand today's challenges while exploring and applying
solutions to meet those challenges
-- and leverage the opportunities they offer.

This new world requires new ways of engaging the diverse members of your team.
